30 Random Facts about Me

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 30 random things facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 30 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you. Just quit the internal whining and do it. (To do this, go to "notes" under tabs on your profile page paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 30 random things, tag 30 people [in the right-hand corner of the app.] then click publish. If you do not have a Notes tab on your Profile page, you can create one by clicking on the + tab. It will let you choose Notes and will create a tab for you. It takes one/tenth of a second).

  • Fact 1: Someday, I hope to have a Masters degree.  Either Psychology or be a PA.
  • Fact 2: I dread getting older, but I know the furture holds lots of great things.  Plus, in some ways, I still feel 21 which is all that matters, right? ;)
  • Fact 3: I am extremely nervous, and excited, to be a mommy again in March.
  • Fact 4: I love my job and feel very fortunate.
  • Fact 5: I want to lose this baby weight by the beginning of summer, and be able to do a triathlon again and a 50 mile bike ride.
  • Fact 6: I plan on taking Jason to Disneyland next Fall.  I have been dying to take him, and since the baby "messed up" the plans to go for his 4th birthday, I think I Fall trip is necessary :)  (who wants to watch Blake?? haha)
  • Fact 7: I don't let people in very easily, but once I do, you usually have a permanent place in my heart
  • Fact 8: I cannot stand bad drivers.  They drive me CRAZY!!  If you can't talk on your phone and drive, or multitask witih whatever you are trying to do, then please refrain from doing so!!
  • Fact 9: I am so thankful for my wonderful husabnd and son.  I honestly feel so incredibly blessed and I hope they know how much I love them!! (I am getting teary eyed, damn hormones!)
  • Fact 10: I am also extremely grateful for my family, both sides (which the second side is my in-laws).  They are always there for us and I don't know what we would do without their constant love and support.
  • Fact 11: The friends in my life are extremely special to me.  I feel as I am getting older, I have really find out who my true friends are and I am lucky to have them!
  • Fact 12: I love wrapping presents.  Especially Christmas presents.  I think Christmas as a parent is even better than it was as a kid.  And that is saying a lot!!
  • Fact 13: I watch General Hospital faithfully (or try to), and will probably do so until it is no longer on or I am dead.  This started when I was little so I blame my mom ;)
  • Fact 14: And, speaking of TV, I am addicted to 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom.  I ususally hate reality TV, but I make an exception for these shows.
  • Fact 15: I would love to go back to New York on a girls trip (since my husand has no desire to go) and take a trip to some tropical place I have never been with Nick- mayebf ro one of our 30th birthdays.
  • Fact 16: I am currently addicted to Wood Connection and making wood crafts (thanks Tanya! I really do mean that.)  It is a good outlet for me, but I really need to start scrapbooking again too!
  • Fact 17: I feel blessed to have married someone with a sibling (and that that sibling had kids) so I can experience being an Aunt.
  • Fact 18: I want to go somewhere "exicting" for 30 birthday.
  • Fact 19: I know I complain about being fat, but thank you for listening to me anyway... I know its not fat, but it is still hard for me.  This time around I thought it would be much easier in the weight gaining/mental area.  Boy, was I wrong!!
  • Fact 20: Even though Blake has a name I still have a hard time calling him Blake and not baby for some reason.  I also think it is so weird to say "my kids"  but I am sure that will change as soon as I see him.
  • Fact 21: I think my dog is sucha pain in the butt, but deep down, I really do love her.  Especially when she snuggles with me at bedtime.

  • Fact 23: I'm VERY impatient.  Enough said.
  • Fact 24: I am so glad that my husband had such a good father to look up to while he was growing up, and still does.  Not every child gets this, but I know it helps him in being the wonderful dad that he is!
  • Fact 25: I hate when parents don't disclipine, or attempt to disclipine, their children.  In whatever situation... I know it can be hard, but really, you are the parent, act like it!  (I was once again reminded of this at story time at the library today)
  • fact 26: I could contsantly clean my house and it would never stay clean.  I have given into having a messy house and being semi-OK with it knowing that it comes from a place of love and being lived in.
  • Fact 27: I always wanted to live out of the state, but I don't think that will ever happen now with having kids and wanting to stay close to family.  It still bums me out at times, but I have also come to accept it.
  • Fact 28: My husband is OBESSED with RC Cars, as much as it drives me absolutely CRAZY, but I am glad he has an outlet in something he enjoys and is able to do it with some good friends.
  • Fact 29: Death terrifies me!  I don't even like thinking about it.  But on the death note, I DO not want a funeral.  I have told both my husband and mom this, so hopefully they will listen to me if that day were to come sooner than I hoped.
  • Fact 30: I would love to teach dance again somday, mainly tap, or even become certified to teach Zumbaonce or twice a week.

Halloween Fun

I can't believe that October has already come and gone.  I was so anxious to get my Halloween decorations up and now it is already time to put them away.  It never seizes to amaze me how quickly time continues to go by.  It seems the older I get the faster it goes... and I think having a child only makes it go by that much faster.

We had such a fun month, particularly focusing on Halloween.  I did a cooking class at Thanksgiving Point with Jason where we made all fun little halloweenish goodies.  Then we went to Red Butte Gardens for the Garden After Dark activity.  We did the witches breakfast at Gardners Village and we did a little corn maze/pumpkin patch at Wheeler Farm.  We wen ton the Saturday it was down pouring so we didn't get to stay as long as we liked, but the kids didn't seem to mind the wetaher.  We also went to the storytime/parade at the Murray Library and Jason had his preschool class party.  We carved pumpkins with the family... and of course we did some trick-or-treating on "Halloween."

Jason dressed up as a boxer this year and I gave him a black eye ;0)  Halloween is truly a kids holiday (although, I have to admit that I throughly enjoy it too) and it is so much fun watching him enjoy it so much!!

I have a ton of pictures from all of the fun stuff we did, so I will only post a few of my favorites.

On a more sober note, one of our friends lost his father this month and it was just a reminder of how precious life is and how it can be taken from us at any time.  With that being said, I just want the people in my life, my family and friends, to know how much I love them and how grateful I am for each and everyone one of you and what you bring into my life!! <3 <3 <3

Blake Ken Adams

I wasn't going to post any ultrasound pictures- I really do think they all look the same.  However, my cousin asked to see at least one, so I thought I would post a few.

Nick said I could pick the name this time with his approval (I think I wrote a little about this in my last post), so I have decided on Blake.  We are going to go with Ken as a middle name, which is Nick's dad's name.  I named Jason after my grandpa, who was like my father figure growing up.  I was going to go with Jane as the middle name had he been a girl, to honor my grandma, but it didn't work out--- Sorry Grandma!

It is crazy how well you can see them and how big they look considering how small they really are still (he weighs about 2 ounces right now).

Here are a few of my favorites.

All stretched out... Loungin'

He is definitley a boy!

Looking right at the "camera"

I like this one cause you can see his little toes :)

It's a BOY!!

I had a big post written about this and for some reason when it went it post it showed an error and didn't save any drafts.  Grrrr!!  So, we will try again but in a shorter version.

Saturday we went to Fetal Fotos for our gender determination.  We were "suppose" to wait until Wednesday, when I will be exactly 15 weeks, but if you know me at all you know how extremely impatient I am.  The time has gone pretty fast so far, but at the same time I feel like I have been pregnant forever already now.

One of the main reasons I wanted to go to Fetal Fotos (besides being impatient) is I wanted to be able to take Jason and I won't be able to do that at my Ob ultrasound that is scheduled at the beginning of November.  Jason was a sweetheart and told me not to worry that the ultrasound wouldn't hurt and it would just tickle a little bit.  When it was over he even said, "I told you it wouldn't hurt."  He also held my hand the whole time and I think I watched him more than I did the actual ultrasound (I guess that is why they give you a DVD, right?).

He was not really convinced it was a boy at first, he kept telling us it was still going to come out a girl and he could call it whatever he wanted, but after a weekend and our shopping adventure today, I think he is finally in the boy mode.  He wanted to buy him lots of toys, but happily settled on a black hat- since he has a black hat- as well a couple of dinosaur outfits.

Blake (yes, I think we have officially settled on this name) is a very active little guy.  He was stretching today and kicking and moving non-stop.  Hopefully he slows down a little, or at least decides to sleep when I do (wishful thinking) or I may be having some sleepless nights coming up here pretty soon.

I was going to upload a picture of Blake, however, I truly think all ultrasound pictures look the same, so I am going to post what we got him today instead :)

Kicking off October

What a great weekend!!

Friday afternoon I had my 14 week OB appointment.  The little one is growing strong and has a heartbeat rate of 162.  It is always nice to hear that little sound since most of my queasiness has gone away.  I can't wait to start feeling the baby move... hopefully sooner than later!  The doc said in the next week and a half to two weeks I should start to feel it.  This baby is very active!  When he put the doppler on my stomach you could hear the heartbeat right away and about every 10-12 seconds you could hear a thump and he said it was the baby moving around and kicking.

Saturday morning we did the hike up Timpanogos and went into the cave.  The leaves changing colors is absolutely beautiful and Jason loved the hike and the cave.  It keeps talking about how fun it was.  The hike up was pretty tough, and he walked the whole way by himself.  I was very impressed with him!  We went with Nick's brothers family and Jason loves being able to spend time with his cousin, Kennedy.  I am so glad they are so close in age and can enjoy one anther's company.

After we got back from that, we went to Fetal Fotos.  We were suppose to wait and go on Tuesday, but I decided to try for a few days early.  I am going to write a separate post about this, I think it deserves it's own, after I go again tomorrow to see if we can get a final determination. I am 99.9% sure it is a boy even more now however.

Saturday night we went up to Park City to help one of my very close friends, Michelle, celebrate her birthday.  We got all dressed up and went out to HarryO's then spent the night up there in a condo.  We don't get dressed up very often so that was something different and fun.  I won't lie, I am not a good partier when I am pregnant.  I am ready for bed by 10pm (at the latest!), but I tried to stick it out for this one.  I made it until 3am.  Yes!!  Good memories!

Sunday we took Jason to the Reptile Show.  He loves all of this kind of stuff for some reason.  I guess maybe because he is a boy??  He has been asking for a reptile but I just don't think Nick or I want to commit to that just yet...  We have been discussing maybe he can ask Santa for one, but time will tell on that.  For now, he will have to be happy going to these type of things for a while.  He of course was brave, unlike his mom, and wanted to hold everything.  It's a good thing he has a daddy that also isn't bothered by these kinds of things.  I mainly sat back and watched the action.

Life is great and I am extremely grateful for the wonderful people I have in my life.  Thank you for making each and everyday worth living!!

Jason's Preschool Adventures...

Jason is LOVING preschool and learning so much.  It has only been two weeks but everyday he is coming home remembering everything he is learning about in class.  It is so fun watching him grow!  Luckily, there is a window that I can watch class through (which I love to do) and he is always so enthralled in what they are doing.  I am so glad that he is enjoying it so much!!

This week is "All About Me Week" and they drew pictures of themselves yesterday.  He decided to draw hair all around the head, I am not sure why, but he also did black hair instead of yellow so it would be like his daddy's.  Little does he know that daddy actually has yellow hair just like him!
He has also started writing letters in the last week.  How did so much change so fast?  He can write almost his name- he has a little trouble with the J still.  So far, he has mastered A, D, E, F, I, L, almost N (they end up backwards most of the time), O, P, Q, S and T.

*Crafts*

My cousin wanted to see the crafts I have been getting into lately... so, here they are.  My friend, Tanya, took me to Wood Connection one day and I have been addicted since... If you haven't been there you should definitely check it out.
